It's hard to believe that it has been only two years since I moved from Ontario. Many of the activities that I enjoy today started through WRSS Newcomers. Golf, pickleball, where to launch a kayak, walking trails with eagles and herons, are a few of the places I have found with Newcomers. Most importantly I have formed instant friendships and connections with amazing ladies.

Newcomers is a place to find great friends and awesome fun. I moved from another province in the midst of the pandemic, with my spouse to be closer to my children. Together we have met new friends, been introduced to new activities and most importantly have found the Everything Wine Store! We feel welcome and a part of our new community.

Newcomers Club was the best thing I decided to join two years ago. The women are all very friendly and there are so many activities to join. It is a great way to make new acquaintances and friends. Having women to walk with and enjoy conversation with over coffee in parks has kept me sane during Covid.

Like many of our members, I moved from another province. Newcomers not only introduced me to many fabulous new friends, but also made the transition manageable with many referrals to doctors, dentists, mechanics, and great shopping to name a few. During a global pandemic, this group made life more enjoyable.

When I moved to this area I did not know a single person. Within a few months I had dozens of friends to enjoy so many fun activities with. Newcomers changed my life! I felt a part of my new community and had so many activities to look forward to.

The club has given me the opportunity to be very active and to make new friends. I’ve been part of a book club for many years and have enjoyed a variety of activities from walks to coffee dates to dinners. Convening activities has allowed me to go on adventures with groups of like-minded women and every activity rewarded me with laughter, knowledge and fulfillment. A great organization!

I initially joined the club because there is a weekly Ladies golf activity offered during the summer. I’ve met several women and we have become good friends. It is these friends who have helped save my sanity, especially during the pandemic. I think the club is great. Depending on your interests, the club provides all sorts of activities. As a newcomer to the South Surrey area, the club has introduced me to a brand new world.

I have found it to be so helpful to be able to meet new people and explore new places, having moved from a different province. Connection is key, especially during Covid.

I have enjoyed scenic walks in Crescent Beach and Rosemary Heights and have found members to be friendly and welcoming, as well as passing on tips of places to go such as restaurants, spas, etc. I would highly recommend Newcomers to anyone looking to meet new people and have new experiences.
