A Few Words from Our Members
Newcomers Club was the best thing I decided to join two years ago. The women are all very friendly and there are so many activities to join. It is a great way to make new acquaintances and friends. Having women to walk with and enjoy conversation with over coffee in parks has kept me sane during Covid.
Like many of our members, I moved from another province. Newcomers not only introduced me to many fabulous new friends, but also made the transition manageable with many referrals to doctors, dentists, mechanics, and great shopping to name a few. During a global pandemic, this group made life more enjoyable.
When I moved to this area I did not know a single person. Within a few months I had dozens of friends to enjoy so many fun activities with. Newcomers changed my life! I felt a part of my new community and had so many activities to look forward to.
The club has given me the opportunity to be very active and to make new friends. I’ve been part of a book club for many years and have enjoyed a variety of activities from walks to coffee dates to dinners. Convening activities has allowed me to go on adventures with groups of like-minded women and every activity rewarded me with laughter, knowledge and fulfillment. A great organization!
I initially joined the club because there is a weekly Ladies golf activity offered during the summer. I’ve met several women and we have become good friends. It is these friends who have helped save my sanity, especially during the pandemic. I think the club is great. Depending on your interests, the club provides all sorts of activities. As a newcomer to the South Surrey area, the club has introduced me to a brand new world.
I appreciate the opportunity of participating in a variety of events. Such a lovely group of people. The meetings have interesting topics.
Newcomers has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of great women, and also to explore new activities after retirement.
The benefits of Newcomers are meeting and connecting with women with similar interests, forming new friendships, learning about the area and getting out and about.
Joining Newcomers as a new resident to the White Rock area has been a great way to establish oneself in a new community as well as making so many new friends, who are very welcoming and warm.
I have found it to be so helpful to be able to meet new people and explore new places, having moved from a different province. Connection is key, especially during Covid.
I have enjoyed scenic walks in Crescent Beach and Rosemary Heights and have found members to be friendly and welcoming, as well as passing on tips of places to go such as restaurants, spas, etc. I would highly recommend Newcomers to anyone looking to meet new people and have new experiences.
When I moved to White Rock I found it hard to make new friends. Someone suggested I join Newcomers and it was life changing! I met so many interesting women and started walking, dining out, going to wineries, learning how to play bridge and pickle ball, and so much more! All while making friends with some wonderful ladies! The fun, friendly group of women at Newcomers will welcome you and soon you’ll have many new friends!
After a life changing experience, moving to South Surrey where I was encouraged by a past member of Newcomers to join the organization. At the first meeting, I was greeted by an Ambassador who stayed with me throughout the gathering as well as introduced me to other members. Members were friendly and willing to share their experiences that they had with the club. During my time with the group I have taken part in the activities that they provide, such as glass painting, music in the park, bowling and of course anything that involved eating. I have volunteered as the Lunch Convener, an Ambassador, and the Vice President and other committees as needed. I found this was a great way of connecting with the members. I have made good friendships over the years and even after a member has left, we continued getting together. I encourage you to join the WRSS Newcomers Club and have some fun.
